EFAW ? Emergency First Aid At Work:  

 

 

Synopsis:

This course is for candidates who require an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements.

This HSE accredited EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) course will enable the delegate to be able to act as an appointed person responsible for first aid.

They will take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Medical Services when required, along with learning basic life sustaining techniques.

Pre-Requisites:

No pre course work is required for this emergency first aid training course and is suitable for any over the age of 13.

Course Outline:

This course will enable your staff to gain the skills and confidence they need on our practically based courses. Our professional trainers bring the sessions to life with plenty of opportunity for hands on experience of key first aid techniques that supplement the theory needed to complete the course

Course Content:

On completion of the first aid training, successful delegates should be able to:

  • The importance of preventing cross infection;
  • The need for recording incidents and actions;
  • Use of available equipment;
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure);
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
  • (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).

Learning Outcomes;

Upon completing the emergency first aid training course delegates will learn how to:

  • Give front line first aid assistance (CPR, Choking, Wounds, Shock, Minor Burns)
  • Assess situations and act accordingly
  • Understand the need for accurate reporting
  • Use available equipment

Duration:

1 Day

No of Delegates – The Total Number of delegates that can sit this is course is a maximum of 12 to uphold the quality of our training and to ensure the course is properly embedded to achieve the companies/individual goals.
